The project focused on streamlining the opportunity management process for a leading company in the energy and water infrastructure sector. The goal was to organize and optimize the approval workflow for large-scale projects, which previously lacked consistency. The objective was to create a dynamic system that enhanced decision-making, ensured compliance with internal policies, and improved efficiency across teams.
02 / Understanding the problem
Disentangling Opportunity Management
The existing opportunity management process was inconsistent, with varying workflows across different projects. This lack of structure made it difficult to standardize approvals and retrieve key insights from multiple teams. The challenge was to develop a unified approval system that could handle the complexities of large-scale infrastructure projects while simplifying the decision-making process.
Visualizing Complexity
To address these challenges, I created a comprehensive process flow and journey map to gain a clear overview of the entire approval process. This helped identify the core issues and complexities, revealing opportunities for streamlining and standardizing the workflow across different projects.

03 / The Solution
Crafting a Unified Interface
After identifying the core challenges, I designed a low-fidelity wireframe to outline the required functionalities and visualize the workflow. This wireframe helped in mapping out the approval process and standardizing it across different projects. After multiple iterations and feedback from the client, I proceeded with the high-fidelity prototype.
Enhancing Decision-Making
A key feature added during the design phase was a toggle option to mark projects as "Potential" or "Active." This feature ensured that potential projects could not be approved prematurely, streamlining the approval process by requiring users to activate a project before it could move forward.

Ensuring Compliance
To ensure compliance with internal policies, I added an agreement checkbox requiring users to confirm that all necessary information and documents were attached before approval. This step was essential in reducing errors and ensuring all phases of the approval process were properly documented.

Streamlined and Flexible Approval Process
The final design resulted in a streamlined opportunity management system that handled the diverse requirements of large-scale infrastructure projects. Key features, like the "Mark as Potential" toggle and compliance checkbox, enhanced decision-making and efficiency. The design was tested, refined, and is now in the development phase. The system's scalable structure allows for easy adaptation to future projects across multiple teams.
